You agree how to pay
Keep the quote, messages and job record in BuildPair while arranging payment directly between yourselves.

1. Agree the quote
Review the scope, materials, price and terms together before accepting a quote. Site visits are allowed and extra work should be agreed in writing.

2. Arrange payment directly
The homeowner and tradesperson agree their payment method and timing themselves. BuildPair does not collect, hold, transfer or refund those payments.

3. Keep a project record
Use BuildPair to keep the quote, messages, variations and user-confirmed payment details together. A payment recorded by the parties is not independently verified by BuildPair.

4. BuildPay is unavailable
BuildPay staged-payment processing and protections are not available during this launch phase. Do not pay money to BuildPair for job materials or labour. Ordinary consumer and contractual rights still apply to payments made directly to a tradesperson.
